6 GENERATIONS OF DIGITAL PERSONHOOD
The Six Generations of Digital Personhood™ is a human-centered framework developed by H.E. Roné de Beauvoir that explores how identity evolves in the digital age. The framework describes a progression from basic recognition and participation to increasingly empowered forms of digital existence, culminating in sovereign, self-directed engagement within digital society.
By recognizing the diverse experiences, capabilities, and challenges of different populations—including the often-overlooked Generation Unbanked—the framework seeks to ensure that human dignity, participation, consent, and opportunity remain central to the design and governance of digital systems.
The Six Generations of Digital Personhood™ provide a practical lens through which policymakers, technologists, human rights advocates, and communities can better understand the relationship between identity, inclusion, and human flourishing in an increasingly connected world.
